Pat Kelly, né en 1949 à Kingston, a été fortement influencé par Sam Cooke. Il débute en 1967 en remplaçant Slim Smith chez The Techniques, puis se lance en solo en 1968. Son style harmonieux et sa voix soul lui ont permis de réaliser des succès, notamment avec la reprise "You Don't Care..." de Curtis Mayfield. Kelly a également été ingénieur du son dans les studios King Tubby, Channel One et Randy's Records. La compilation "Better Get Ready" retrace 14 titres de sa longue carrière.
